VORACIOUS CONTEMPT - Exquisite Suffering - CD

“Exquisite Suffering” isn’t just what San Antonio cretins VORACIOUS CONTEMPT have titled their newest 4-track EP, it’s what the band delivers in spades, fully destroying what little hearing and brain cells you have left.
In a modern landscape where bands want to claim the “Slam” title, few actually deliver on the genre’s original blueprint. Voracious Contempt does though, and “Exquisite Suffering” is testament to this claim. If the thinly veiled reference to their namesake wasn’t enough to convince you of their devotion to true Brutal Death, their bludgeoning sounds surely will. 
Many modern “slam” bands seem to have forgotten that the genre’s foundation is dirty Death Metal at its core, but Voracious Contempt are quick to remind them. The band builds on this template with grooves that make the old heads in the back grimace with disgusting approval, and a shitpot full of brutal breakdowns sure to whip any room into a violent frenzy.
Since their inception in 2023, the band has decimated dingy divebars and sweat-soaked music halls all over Texas. It’s no surprise that the band caught the attention of long running, Texas based label Corpse Gristle Records, which exposed the world to the original wave of Texas Death Metal and Slam in the first place, back in the mid 90’s. Keep your eyes on these kids. They’ve got a ton of gas in the tank, and plenty of miles to burn…Don’t fuckin’ mess with Texas.
